So, it's been a while since I’ve posted something. Maybe it’s because we don’t have camp in the winter… J. Actually, a lot has been going on since my last post. At the beginning of December I was offered a position at Glorieta Summer Camp for Boys as the Program Director. Glorieta is the sister camp to Ridgecrest and they are located in New Mexico. They are a much smaller camp than Ridgecrest. As such, my job as Program Director of the boys camp out there would have been to basically run all the day-to-day operations of the camp for the summer. I had until December 31 to make a decision and I took every single day to make the decision. I went back and forth on the decision. It was not an easy one. There were many pro’s and con’s to both camps. But in the end, actually December 29th, I decided that I was called to continue my work at Ridgecrest as a counselor.
At the end of December I had the opportunity to go up to Ridgecrest for a few days. I have posted a few pictures from that trip with this blog post. I had a great time. It was fun to see some of my friends from camp and reconnect with them. I also had the opportunity to take a few of the Senior High guys from Trinity Baptist Church with me. I think they had a good time as well. We did some hiking, sledding, and threw a few snowballs. We also had some good small group bible study time and devotion time. And, it was cool to be able to show them around camp.
Looking forward, camp will be here in just a few months. In April, there is a spring work weekend at Camp. That weekend is looking free so far, so hopefully, I will be able to make it up there. I will be leaving for camp at the beginning of June. This weekend I will be going to Knoxville for an AYSO Conference but I have the opportunity to see a few of my campers from this past summer and they even invited me to dinner Friday night. I’m looking forward to that as well. Well, that’s all for now.
In Christ,
